Clyte May is our IBD Clinical Nurse Consultant at Port Macquarie Gastroenterology with over 40 years of nursing experience, specialising in Inflammatory Bowel Disease care since 2011.

Her qualifications include postgraduate studies in Acute Care Nursing, Midwifery, and Primary Health, as well as specialised education in IBD from Queensland University, Harvard University (Immunology), and the Advanced IBD Nurse School.

Achievements

As the founding Clinical Nurse Consultant for IBD services in the NSW Mid North Coast, Clyte established comprehensive care pathways that improved access to specialised IBD care in this regional area.

Clyte co-founded and previously chaired the NSW/ACT IBD Nurses group and served on the IBDNA National Committee (2018-2024) in executive roles, including Secretary.

She has contributed to the development and delivery of Foundation and Advanced IBD Nurse Schools, including their adaptation during the COVID-19 pandemic, and presents regularly at professional conferences.
